Barts Bash 2019!

Let's aim to get around 30 boats out on the lake!  There are a number of trophies up for grabs today:

* Shipley Salver Trophy (overall winner)

* Ladies Trophy (top placed female sailor)

* Ladies Crew Trophy (top placed female crew sailor)

* Junior Helm Trophy (top placed junior helm sailor)

* Wrigglesworth Junior Trophy (second placed junior helm sailor)

* Junior Crew Trophy (top placed junior crew sailor)

Barts Bash racing will start at 11.00AM on Sunday 15th September. Please remember that you need to register on the Barts Bash website by clicking here. There will be a voluntary £5 entry for the race - all proceeds will go to the Bart's foundation.

If you don't have a boat you can hire (via the website) one of the 5 club Picos or be oh so daring and hire one of the new club Hartleys!

For those who wish to make a weekend of it the club is open for camping on the Saturday evening. We'll even run a night race if there's any wind!

BACKGROUND (from the event website: http://www.bartsbash.com/post/14-15-september-2019): Bart’s Bash is a global sailing race taking place at hundreds of venues, with thousands of sailors in hundreds of different classes of boat around the world. This incredible event works on the assumption that sailing venues host their races at weekends and we invite them to unite in one colossal global sailing event. Put simply it’s the day the world goes sailing!

It's a day the sailing community remembers Andrew 'Bart' Simpson, a double Olympic medallist who tragically lost his life whilst training for the America's cup in 2013. Bart’s Bash is an annual fundraising and participation campaign promoted by the Andrew Simpson Sailing Foundation (ASSF). Each individual event is organised by a venue which is the organising authority for all activities at their site.
