Thursday Evening Working Parties

There are a few little little lulls in the calendar and lots of jobs suitable for the summer weather.

We’ll be running working parties on the following days.

Thursday 31 May - 6pm or later if you can’t get off early
Thursday 7 June - 6pm same
Thursday 21 June - 6pm same

If we do continue to be blessed by dry conditions there will be preparation and painting of the wooden clubhouse windows (those little ones with bare wood showing back and front). The dinghy park grass is swamping boats and needs mowing and strimming. Chris Oxlade has been revealing concrete tracks with a spade that we thought were lost forever, but it is too big a task for just one man. There is also continued work on the island to clear trees and brush to maintain the constant wind conditions OSC is famed for. The two rotored beast of the island named Lazarus 2 is there waiting for those brave enough to tame it.

If you are interested we need all the help we can get! Please bring painting gear &/or strong shoes, trousers and thick gloves. Also a buoyancy aid for the island. Strimmers, brush cutters, loppers etc. all appreciated.
